Punta Baluarte

A landmark in its own right, Punta Baluarte was used as an observatory point by the Spanish friars and, later on, by the Japanese during World War II. It is located at a hill overlooking the main village of Barangay San Jose and is marked by a small maroon castle--a replica of the original. On the foot of the hill, a few meters from the seashore, is a bunch of colored kiosks which complements the historical serenity of Punta Baluarte.
